Mekong’s Wellness Team rang in the 2025 Vietnamese Lunar New Year with traditional foods such as Mứt, Rau câu, Chả lụa, and Chả giò (Vietnamese sweet candies, Jello, pork roll, and egg rolls), music, year of the snake scratch art/ paper lantern making, and teaching the community about Tết (Vietnamese Lunar Year) at Downtown Youth Wellness Center (DYWC). Tết is a festival that honors traditions and cultural heritage. It is a time of unity where family gatherings and the sharing of delicious food take place. Mekong’s Wellness Team collaborated with DYWC to not only celebrate this important holiday, but to also express the importance of teamwork. Mekong believes that we are stronger and can accomplish more when we work together. It was an honor to partner up with DYWC staff to host this cultural celebration for our youth community.
About Downtown Youth Wellness Center: The DYWC serves youth and young adults, ages 12-25, in a safe, supportive, and youth-focused environment that fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment. The design reflects current research that drop-in youth centers can be instrumental in supporting youth in navigating and accessing services across systems while also providing a space for activities, learning, socializing, and a place to just “be”.
